The RedManning Mode module defines a group of telephones located in critical locations (e.g., engine control rooms or the bridge). Red manning mode can be activated directly by the push of a button to prevent low priority calls, ensuring that crew members are not distracted during high-risk situations (e.g., when maneuvering the ship in port). During red manning mode, only phones set as direct access phones can make calls. Callers from other phones will be informed by a voice message that only urgent calls should be made. The module can be configured to drop such calls after the announcement is played or to connect the caller if he holds the line for a defined time.
