Highlights

Broad PMS Support

Cruise Base supports all major PMS systems used in the cruise market, including the certified Callisto Oracle Hospitality Cruise Shipboard Property Management System (SPMS).

Flexible Check-In/Out Scenarios

Especially the check-in/check-out process differs from cruise line to cruise line, sometimes even within the cruise line itself. These requirements can be configured flexibly in the Cruise Base module.

Smart Role Concept

The Cruise Base role concept, in conjunction with the cabin and billing configuration, enables the flexible assignment of roles for the corresponding cabins and billing accounts.

Multilingual Support

Cruise Base supports by default the configuration of various languages. These include the languages of the following countries: DE, US, GB, FR, IT, ES, PT, CN.

Time Synchronization

Based on the ship's time precisely specified by the master clock, Cruise Base reliably converts the time on the phones and in Callisto after a corresponding time zone change.

Billing & Reporting

Cruise Base provides a sophisticated billing application for invoice information exchange with the PMS and a comprehensive reporting tool, including refund possibilities.

All Features in Detail

Features from A–Z Description
Alarm systems If the PMS system or the master clock are not reachable, Callisto sends an email alarm message.
Billing Cruise Base offers a comprehensive billing application that can bill passengers, crew, and office phones individually. Usually, the specified data is exchanged with the PMS, which in turn generates the invoice. The extensive configuration options allow individual price plans for calls and called parties. It is also possible to grant refunds to individuals. If no PMS is available, Cruise Base Reporting can be used to bill the recipient directly.
Cabins Each cabin can be assigned a name, call number, role, VIP status, language (manual/PMS), and status (manual/PMS). A clear list shows the cabins in the overview section. The cabin list can be exported and imported.
Check-in / Check-out Automatic check-in/check-out via PMS or manually. Various options to customize the check-in/check-out process.
Client Matter Code The Client Matter Code to be entered during a call via telephone to define the call by the caller is obtained by Callisto Base from the Cisco UCM and displayed in the billing reporting, including description.
Deployment The Cruise Base module is licensed as the basis of all Cruise applications and is uploaded to the Callisto platform during the initial installation. Thanks to the Callisto appliance approach, an unrivaled fast installation is guaranteed. Prepared as an appliance image (OVA), the Callisto system can be installed on any virtual machine or physical server.
Global number plan (E.164 support) E.164 numbers supported.
green-IT Lowest resource requirements in the industry with the highest performance:
2 to 8 CPUs, 2 to 6 GB RAM, 80 GB HD, up to max. 1’000 parallel calls per image.

Callisto Cruise Base - Your Best Choice

Base

Cruise Base forms the basis for an efficient Callisto Cruise installation with the unrivaled variety of applications on one server, which turns out to be significant cost savings for the customer.

All-In

Customer-specific PMS connection, the flexibly adjustable processes for check-in/check-out, roles and groups, the exact time synchronization, and the individual billing options, including many other crew and guest applications, are the all-in approach of Cruise Base.

Tailor-Made

Thanks to the individual configuration options in Cruise Base and the possibilities for tailor-made adjustments, the customer benefits from efficient, time and cost-saving processes on board the ships.

Select Your PMS

Oracle Hospitality Cruise Shipboard Property Management System (SPMS) is the most widely used PMS in the cruise industry. However, there are different check-in/check-out processes in each cruise line, which Callisto Cruise must be able to map, as well as different PMS systems. Callisto Cruise Base supports all large PMS systems of the industry.

Small ships, for example, in the expedition cruise segment, may have no or only a limited PMS system. Callisto Cruise plays here an essential role by allowing the relevant processes to be mapped manually in the system without integration.

Individual Check-In/Check-Out Processes

Each cruise line has individual check-in/check-out processes. That’s why Callisto Cruise offers a variety of ways to incorporate these processes seamlessly. The Cruise Base module not only provides the possibility to integrate the PMS used by the corresponding cruise line and thus automate the process, but it can also manage manual check-ins/check-outs.

In automatic mode, the PMS system transfers, for example, a passenger’s itinerary (including the date of check-in and check-out, the name of the guest/crew member, the language, the Manning number, the PIN, or the billing account) to Callisto Cruise Base. Depending on the configuration, the Cruise Base module takes various actions in the check-in/out case, like blocking outgoing calls, deleting guest/crew data, setting guest/crew data, and unblocking outgoing calls. Each action can either be scheduled or happen at check-in/out time.

Smart and Individual Role, Cabin and Group Allocation

The Cruise Base module offers great flexibility in terms of role assignment, cabin configuration, and group management. For example, individual roles can be defined through the assignment of

  • cabin type
  • billing-accounts or
  • Callisto Cruise applications

In a comprehensive cabin overview, you can see and partially configure the following:

  • phone number
  • name
  • role
  • cabin type
  • billing-account
  • language
  • VIP-status
  • room status
  • checked in guest

Among other things, guests can check out at the touch of a button. Some defined groups are used In some Callisto Cruise applications like, e.g., Group VoiceMail. These can be easily created and edited in Cruise Base. It is also possible to obtain defined groups directly from the PMS.

The Importance of Time

Cruise ships sailing on all oceans pass through various time zones. For this purpose, a corresponding master clock is on the vessel, which displays the time onboard depending on the ship’s location. Cruise Base is integrated with this master clock and reliably performs the task of setting both the own time and the time on the phones, depending on the ship’s time zone. Especially for billing and reporting, this correct time is essential.

The exact time can also be set in the Cruise Base module manually.

Billing and Reporting Are Key Functions

Each cruise line has its own ideas about how a telephony price plan for guests and crew members should look like. That is why Cruise Base offers maximum flexibility in the design of price plans. Any price filter with definable phone number ranges can be created. These filters can then be assigned to an individual billing rate. In the billing tariff, a free talk time, interval lengths, and fees for guests, crew, and the offices are freely definable. In Cruise Base Billing, even more parameters can be configured so that the desired price plan is finally applied.

Just as important as the individual price plan is the detailed reporting of the call data. Cruise Base Reporting offers a comprehensive overview and all possible assistance for searching or filtering entries. In addition, Cruise Base Reporting processes “Client Matter Codes” – codes, that are entered during a telephone call, assigned by Cruise Base Reporting to the corresponding call, and can be posted to a specific matter by the technical staff. Consequently, this call can be directly assigned to the billing reason.

Significant for the driving personnel is the possibility to make a refund on calls when needed. Cruise Base Reporting also provides this function.
